Easter 2012

The boys started Easter weekend out with filling plastic eggs with three different kinds of candy. Each boy got to put in a different candy in the eggs. Of course candy was left over so they enjoyed several pieces each as well.
Then we moved onto hard boiled eggs....and the boys got to sponge on some easter egg dye to a dozen eggs. Of course this was fun, but definitely alot more mess involved. We all had a beautiful array of colored fingers when finished.

Then because it was so beautiful out we went outdoors for the easter egg hunt. Nick and I hid ONLY the candy filled eggs. The boys enjoyed looking for them around the front of the house, but man....I think we either need to not hide them so well, or our boys need to actually look for them and not expect them to pop out at them!!
This picture is actually NOT at our house, its a Grandma Waibel's house for her easter egg hunt, but I LOVE that nick caught his little expression of PURE JOY as he found an easter egg!! Priceless!!
Of course Easter isn't about the eggs and the hunts we have, its about Jesus our Savior who rose from the dead three days after he died! How he was hung on a cross to shed his blood (that ultimate sacrifice of sins for us) so that we can have a hope of heaven someday!! May we always remember the real reason we celebrate Easter!!

Spring Break 2012

So our original plans of Myrtle Beach for spring break were shattered this year as I was not allowed to travel so close to my due date. So we tried to make it fun for the kids.

On Monday nick took the day off and we went to Happy Hollow park for 4 hours. We had a picnic lunch and hiked some trails and played on the playground. Sadly it was a cold day so we had to be bundled up, but I think the kids had lots of fun.

Nick worked Tuesday and Wednesday, but on Wednesday Elijah and Caden got to go to their cousin's Avery and Alivia and Austin's house to spend the night. I know they had alot of fun and then on Thursday Nick and I went to pick them up and we traveled to the Indoor Water Park hotel in Indy.
Playing some putt putt at the hotel.
And of course spent many hours at the water park. They let us check in 3 hours earlier than we were suppose to which was great for the kids to get extra swim time. By the end of the night when the water park closed down they were tired and ready to stop. So I think we got our money's worth!!
I didn't get in much...wait a minute...Im not sure I got in at all!! I did have my suit on and I did put my feet in the hot tub, oh and I guess I did go around the lazy river on a tube, but other than that, nick did all the swimming with the boys.
We only stayed one night, but it was fun and I was exhausted by the time we got home. Guess I thought it wouldn't take so much out of me, but when you are 8 months prego I guess its alot more work than you think.

Shut it off!!!!

So tonight all three boys got their hair cut. Figure with the amount of ticks we have around here, its wise to keep it short enough to see their scalp and know if a tick has latched on!! Sadly liam had some cute nice longer hair(at least I liked it anyways), but it had to go!!

Nick was busy cutting it when all of a sudden Liam screamed "shut it off, shut it off...thats enough, it looks great!!" I ran to see what the noise was all about and walked in to find liam looking alot like "bozo" as nick stated!! The top of his hair was shaved short and as you can see from this picture the bottom was longer and more "fluffy". He saw me and said "look mom, it looks nice"! I just died laughing...poor boy!!

So then nick took a bit of video hoping to catch him saying how good it looked, but of course that didn't really happen, but it still is a funny video of his uncertainty in the matter of his hair cut!!
**After posting this and watching the video again, I find it quite funny how my child can NOT stand still either!! For the record, he did NOT have any candy before his haircut!!**

28 days left!!

I officially have 4 weeks left of this pregnancy. Now of course as most momma's do, they hope they go early as the last month is pretty uncomfortable and I feel so large. However, I do keep telling myself that I do have 4 weeks left so not to expect it to come any sooner(even though all three of my other boys came early:)). I kind of feel like a big plum in this picture....gag:).

Doctor appointment today and I made some progress so that was exciting. Now all these braxton hicks Ive been having need to just become REAL contractions:).

slowly but surely

So this was Liam's room when we moved into the house back in 2009. Blue and Yellow seemed great for him and it matched his bedding so we left it just as it was.

However, I wanted something different for this up and coming little "squirt" and since I am due in 6 weeks nick and I set out to paint the room last night. Of course it is NOT finished yet, because we do NOT know what we are having. So I decided to go neutral(sort of a dark neutral), and then once the baby is born I will add a color to the room. Also above the crib will go the baby's name in wooden brown letters. Of course can't do anything with that just yet either.

As you may notice there is a BLUE fitted sheet on the bed currently and perhaps thats because I think this is a boy. This way it is all ready, but if for some crazy reason i am wrong and out comes a little girl, a fitted bed sheet is WAY easier to change than the paint on the wall. I have blinds for the room, they just aren't hung yet, and I hope to get some sort of curtain too at some point.

Liam turns 3!!

Technically Liam doesn't turn 3 until tomorrow on the 20th, but we celebrated his birthday yesterday after church. Liam has really gotten into Lightening McQueen and usually watches the Cars movie every day(minus the times I tell him NO). So what better way than to celebrate with a Lightening McQueen cake?!
He was overjoyed with the cake when he finally got to see if finished! He had quite the excitment!!

Let the party begin with soup, lettuce salad, fruit salad, and breadsticks. Yumm!! Here are the little kiddos at the kitchen table(minus a few adults for supervision). The floor is easier to clean in the kitchen than it is in the dinning room so the kiddos always sit here.
Immediately after dinner he wanted to open his p'wesents!! He was so happy to sit on the mater chair as he really thought it was his birthday chair. We have had mater for several years(a gift to Elijah from Aunt Joy when Elijah was little) but Liam didn't know we owned him so he was thrilled when he saw it and got to hear that it even TALKS!!! A chair that talks....now how cool is that? He loved it!
He wouldn't look at the camera and smile, so this is the best we got with him and his cake. It took one simple little blow to blow out those candles. No effort at all.
The wonderful cousins that came to help celebrate!!
Happy 3rd Birthday Liam Nicholas!! We love you very much and are so thankful God gave you to us to raise. You are such a sweet, funny and ornery little guy! We pray that someday you will grow to live your life serving Christ!!
Here are just a few video's of his party!

Recorder Concert

This past Tuesday Elijah had a recorder program at school. I guess the new music teacher wanted the kids to show off what they have learned since Christmas with their new recorders. The school has never had a recorder program, but the principal was game for it....so of course we went to watch Elijah play. He did a good job, and there is a short video of him playing his solo for the concert:).
