Happy 10th Birthday!!!!

On friday Elijah celebrated his 10th birthday with some friends over for a sleepover.  Elijah's real birthday is actually May 11th, however he wanted to wait till Derek G. came back from haiti so that he could come.  Thus making this weekend his celebration.
The kids played some ping pong, and swam(no picture), rode the go-kart around and played some basketball.  I think they all had fun.

Then it was time for his presents.  He got lots of candy, a purdue shirt, water guns, a game, and some money.

Elijah asked for a guitar for his birthday cake.  So I found a cake pan at Hobby Lobby and so his wish of a guitar cake was what he got.  I don't have the most steady hands when doing cakes, and so sadly my strings on the guitar are very lopsided, but Elijah was thrilled with it and that is all that matters.

He even asked for trick candles:).  Sadly he couldn't get them blown out on his own, so Avery and Isaiah joined in and helped him.  Alas they were out.

Then it was movie time.  We got the movie "we bought a zoo", however Ive never seen it and I thought it would be a good one for these kids(and elijah requested this movie), but sadly it had a couple bad words(why in the world do they do this??) so we made them shut if off.  They ended up watching Home Alone 4 instead.
We wish Elijah a wonderful year of being 10!!  Its so hard to believe we have a 10 year old and I am sure I'll say this year after year as our kids get older.  We love you Elijah and pray that someday you will give your heart to the lord.
And now, just because I didn't want to do another post....I added these two pictures:)
Liam chose not to take a nap one day when I layed him in bed and so he messed around when all of a sudden....bang.  I ran up to see what happened and blood was oozing from his forhead.  After a clean up we assessed the damage and figured no stitches were required.  Kind of hard to see in this picture but its a good size cut so I won't be surprised if it leaves a scar.

And then I captured this picture too.  Oh how I just love my kiddos!  Especially when things are running smoothly and they are gettinng along so great and I just love to see them start to interact with Ellie too!!
