So this weekend on Saturday morning at 7:20am I ran my very first race. It was a 10K and I have been anxiously waiting for this day. When it finally arrived I almost backed out as I didn't want to drive to Champaign, IL to run. Sounded rediculous to me. However, my dear husband told me I would regret my decision if I did indeed choose to not run it. So I went for it...and I am very glad I did. We didnt have our camera's with us, because we had no where to put them so we waited till we returned to our cars after the race to take pictures. Joy and I after the race.
Joy did an amazing job...especially since she doesn't like to run, but did if for me anyways. After it was all said and done, joy did actually admit that it wasn't so bad and she might do it again:).
BAD PICTURE!!! I'll admit...it wasn't my best time AT ALL!! At home when I run, I can almost ALWAYS do a 10K in less than an hour...usually around 50-55 minutes. However, I was worried Id not have a restroom anywhere near by(which can be a scary sight for me:)) and so I took my time. When I crossed the finish line I was actually disappointed in myself:(. I ran it in 1 hour and 2 minutes and quite frankly wished I could do it over again right then and there and GIVE IT MY ALL!!! So with that being said, I guess I will just have to do it again and actually put more effort into it and pray that I won't need a restroom:). I really would like to aim for a mini next though:). It is a goal of mine for sure!!

Way to go Sandra!!! I'm so proud of you. I'm glad Nick pushed you to get in the car and drive!!!! You have really turned into quite the runner...amazing!
