I'm Thankful.......

for the little drain at the top of sinks!!!! You ask why?? Well, last night I was busy making dinner. Elijah and Caden were in the basement, and quite frankly I figured Liam was too. Dinner was nearly finished and I was putting things on the table so we could eat. I heard Liam jabbering from upstairs so I told him to come on down for dinner. He came down, I picked him up and he was WET from HEAD to TOE!! Literally. His hair, his front of his shirt, both front and back of his pants were drenched and his feet had water droplets on them. I instantly thought...oh dear...the toilet. There better not be pee in that toilet. I smelled Liam and he smelled fine. So I dashed upstairs to see the damage. This is what I saw..... Water all over the floor and ontop of the step stool was a puddle. The side wall(you can sort of see in this picture) was dripping with water. The back wall (which you can't see) had water running down it and the baseboards were all wet. I opened the cupboard and there was water all pooled in there. The dark spots on the carpet means it's wet:). Then you look up to the counter and this is what I saw.....

Toothbrushes, toothpaste, and the hand towel were all getting baths. The water was still running too when I got up there so it was all going out of the tiny little drain at the top of the sink cause he had plugged the main drain too!! If you look closely near the children's tooth paste you will see a cap floating...yep thats the cap to the other toothpaste and so that toothpaste was filled with water. Our entire counters had water on them. It took me 2 towels to soak up all the water that was laying around. What a mess!! Our dinner was COLD this night!!!

It's Party Time!

We had the honor of going to Bloomington to visit Michael and Mindy this weekend. It was in celebration of his 30th birthday and it was a KID FREE party:). We truly thank you two for a wonderful, fun filled weekend and for allowing us to stay an extra day as well:). Since it was Michael's weekend he chose all that we would eat:). Here we are on Friday night downtown Bloomington at a restaurant called Medici. Yummy food for sure.

We played several games on saturday. Us ladies played Ticket to Ride, while the men played Risk, and Settlers.

Our boys stayed with my parents on friday night, saturday all day and then on sunday they brought them to IL as my family all had a wedding to attend in Fairbury, IL. On saturday afternoon, my sweet Caden was out riding a three wheeled bike when he took a spill. He landed face first onto the blacktop drive. I think this will take a bit of time to heal...don't you?? I actually got tears in my eyes when I saw him on sunday morning at church. I felt so bad for him.

Liam Turns Two!!

Another year has gone by and my sweet baby boy has turned 2!!! Its hard to believe, but it also feels so nice to not have a baby in the house. He's becoming a little man and its fun to watch him grow up and learn new words and phrases and interact with Elijah and Caden. Yesterday(sunday) we had his birthday party. We invited both sides of the family for a big fun filled party. I made italian beef sandwiches and everyone else brought a side item to help out. Great Grandma Gutwein was so kind to feed liam. Usually this boy wants to do it BY HIMSELF, but he must have thought it was pretty sweet of great grandma to help so he let her. I love this picture!!

Liam could harldy wait to open gifts. At one point in the night he went over to the gifts and began opening them up(we were all still eating), so I had to tell him he had to wait. Finally it was time and he dug in!

He was determined to put this large gift on his lap and open it properly.

After gifts it was Cake and Ice Cream time!! The next few pictures are of me making this cake on Saturday. This was my FIRST official time making a "real" cake for one of my boys' parties. Usually my Mother In Law makes them, but she was glad to hand over the reigns. I was a shaky mess and nervous, but it was fun none the less. I look forward to making many more cakes for my boys!!!

Here is the finished product. Im tough on myself so I saw lots of flaws and lots of places where I can definitely improve next birthday.

Liam really loved his doggie cake and was happy to blow out the candles so he could eat it. After watching mom make it and then put it in the fridge for a day he wasn't to happy about not getting a piece when I made it.

Finally a piece of yummy cake!! He was thrilled to dig in. Thanks everyone for coming and for helping us celebrate Liam 2nd birthday!!

Hotel Weekend

The first weekend of February our potluck group went to a hotel in Indy for a weekend. We went to Drury Inn on Shadeland Ave. A new and nice hotel. The greatest things about this hotel are 1. 3-10pm free popcorn and beverages 2. 5-7:30pm buffet of and not limited to, chicken strips, chili, baked potato, wings, carrots and celery, chips and salsa, salad etc. 3.hot free breakfast of waffles, eggs, bisquits and gravy, sausage, cereal, danish, yogurt, etc. 4. indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub. 5. a perk(if you like wine's and mixed drinks...) you also have 3 drinks per adult 21 years of age.

All the kids line up sunday morning(in the meeting room we rented for saturday/sunday morning) and sang us sunday school songs. It was fun.

Liam's REAL first time swimming in a pool at a hotel. He was frightful at first, but soon he was enjoying it so much he cried when we had to get out.

So like I said it has an indoor/outdoor pool. The pool really wasn't that cold, but the weekend we were there it was snowing and so it was fun for adults and kids to swim outside while it was snowing. Here I dared Elijah to make a snow angel and I did indeed bribe him...opps. I told him Id give him 2 dollars. So his uncle aj and him went out and made snow angels and yes, elijah got his 2 dollars when we got home. NUTTY BOYS!!

In the lobby is where the kids would gather because they could watch a very large flat screen tv and watch cartoons. They did a good job being quiet in the lobby too, which was a surprise. I guess they were all glued to the tv.

What an enjoyable time we had. We always look forward to the once-a-year potluck weekend at a hotel.

Super Bowl Party

We had the honor of hosting our second annual Super Bowl Party. We really had a great turn out this year and hope to host again next year:). Here are a few pictures from the evening. As you can see most ladies sat around tables and talked, while the guys sat infront of the tv. Surprise, Surprise!!

Welcome to the family!!

So last night we got this much awaited phone call from Austin. We suspected something special happend as he doesn't call to often:). SURE ENOUGH.....we get to welcome his girlfriend of one year to the WAIBEL family!! Welcome Karis Viars!! So excited to soon have you as a sister. Wedding is being planned for this December.

They got engaged last night on their one year annivesary of being together. So sweet. He had his roomates help plant notes throughout town and after an evening of surprises and her saying "yes" before he even got down on one knee....a few firworks were sent off. Yes yes, he did end up getting down on one knee to make it official and yes, she said "yes"over again.

That is it??

So this morning I thought it would be fun to post the random pictures that we have taken so far this year of 2011!! I even had a name to title the post in my mind. So I got onto the computer, got into our picture files and much to my horror and complete disappointment I had ONE PICTURE!!! ONE!! The month is half over and I have ONE picture. Now I know Im not one to take pictures and I usually leave it up to Nick, but I still thought for sure we had more than this:(. I guess the title of this post quickly changed and the random pictures of 2011 so far will have to wait. For now, here is the ONE picture that I (yes I) took so far in January.






I do love my boys however and this is actually a pretty decent picture of them. Thankfully nick's grandma wyss was wanting an "up and down picture" of the three boys and so truth be told...that is why I have this ONE picture.
